“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

Psychotherapy.

As I ponder my approach as a Psychotherapist, I follow Thomas Moore’s approach and definition of psychotherapy: Whenever I want to get on track with my work as a psychotherapist, I think back on the word. It is made of up two key Greek terms: psyche (soul) and therapeia (serve). “Psycho-therapy” means “to serve the soul.” Psyche is not mind or behavior and therapeia does not mean healing or making better. I always keep in mind that my job is to serve the soul, or care for it.

I utilize an eclectic approach to working with others on their journey. I include a variety of approaches grounded in cognitive science and neuroscience that I have found to support the body, mind, spirit, and soul. Acudetox NADA ear acupuncture, Dream Work, Ecotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Soul Collage, Yoga, Mantra, and Expressive Arts.

Some of the important authors and research I draw upon are from Thomas Moore, Daniel Siegel, Joe Dispenza, Sharon Klayman Farber, Kelly Borgan, Michael Cohen (Eco-Therapist), Francine Shaipiro, Richard louv, Viktor Frankl, David Richo, Steven Porges, Bessel Van Der Kolk, Jack Kornfield, Jon Kabat Zinn, Thomas Berry, and Peter Levine just to name a few.

Using this eclectic approach creates a new way of relating to our world from our strengths to approach life MORE EMPOWERED.

People have found that solutions come from the depth of themselves from their SOUL. Starting small and taking a step at a time together life can grow to be full of life slowly over time once we connect with our deeper purpose and meaning.

Kundalini Yoga.

"The primary objective [of Kundalini] is to awaken the full potential of human awareness in each individual; that is, recognize our awareness, refine that awareness, and expand that awareness to our unlimited Self. Clear any inner duality, create the power to deeply listen, cultivate inner stillness, and prosper and deliver excellence in all that we do." -Kundalini Research Institute

“The very nature of what we do is to awaken the energy of consciousness, to practice in a way that sheds light on our self-imposed limitations, and invites us to think out of the box and develop our intuitive mind. Being able to live from our intuitive mind is one of the main goals of a Kundalini practitioner.” -Kia Miller

I began my yoga journey in the 90’s with Senior Iyengar Yoga teachers like George Purvis, Mary Dunn, Kathy Curran and Dean Learner.  In 2003, after I had heart surgery I knew I needed something that would take me deeper.

In 2006, I found Kundalini Yoga teachers Karta Purkh Kaur and Dan Retuta in Crestone, CO. Milcah discovered Kundalini Yoga to be the yoga of the Heart!  In 2015, she finished her Kundalini Yoga Level 1 training.  She has also completed her Level 2 certifications. Emersion into the healing ways of the heart in the physical, emotional, and etheric realms has become her passion! Reflection, Resilience, Relationship☺
