Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life is a hero.

My Journey

I have a deep belief that everyone has a story to tell and to tell it integrates the body and empowers the soul.

My unique life story started in 1972 at the height of the cultural revolution I was born in a VW bus with my grandmother driving! As a young child, I spent my first decade in communes living in boxcars and Tipi’s in nature, surrounded by music, creativity, and spirituality.  My early life in the communes was about art, nature, and freedom of expression.  With no formal schooling until the age of 10  imagination, dreams, and playfulness ruled the day.

When the communes collapsed around the nation many hippies moved from the wilderness of nature into the inner city and that’s what happened to our family unit, we ended up in the inner city of Tuscon, AZ.

Those colorful times in tipi’s and boxcars in the wilderness became clouded with darkness and trauma in the inner city surrounded by drug abuse, mental illness, and a lack of formal educational experiences until my grandmother took my half brother and me into her home.  This act of love provided me with a deep purpose in wanting to understand how resiliency in children occurs when they are nurtured by a caring adult and this transformational act changes their life outcomes.

At age 31, I had emergency heart surgery and this began my spiritual journey to explore my early years to rediscover the power of the heart remembering healing qualities of music, nature, art, and freedom of expression.   This heart-filled journey led back to school to want to serve children with disabilities, learn the current best practices in the mental health field,  learn neuroscience in mindfulness, and re-discover the healing power of nature and play to restore the soul.

I found  Kundalini Yoga to be a group of seekers similar to the loving people I had connected to in the communes as a young child and I found the practice to elevate my consciousness by its vigorous breath work and deep meditation brought healing to my mind, body, spirit, soul, lungs, and heart!!

Dream and SoulCollage (Seena B. Frost)  work revived my imagination and relationship with my own inner imagery to bring healing to my deeper unconscious and ultimately empowering me to share these healing techniques with others.

Embracing the spirit and beauty and the social justice of the 60’s and 70’s era, current research in mindfulness and the mental health field with the teachings of the HEART creates Hawk Heart Healing.

Thank you for being here, I look forward to learning more about your journey.
